What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition of this work. This work is a response to the critics who had written negative reviews about one of Alfred Austin's earlier works, 'The Seasons: A Satire', written in the form of a poem. With a plate showing a portrait of the author tipped in to the front endpaper. Written by Alfred Austin. Austin was a poet, and was appointed the Poet Laureate in 1896. Despite this prestigious title during his life, his poems are little remembered today. His other works include 'The Golden Age: A Satire', 'Grandmother's Teaching', 'The Human Tragedy', 'The Door of Humility', and more.
