Written and illustrated by William Makepeace Thackeray is best known for his satirical works looking at English society, most especially for 'Vanity Fair'. He tended to be quite savage in his attacks on society, publishing under various pseudonyms in his youth to avoid personal criticism.
Bound without the printers imprint, half-title, and adverts.
Condition
In a half crushed morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards, bound by J. Larkins. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the spine and extremities. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots. Small repaired tear to the frontispiece.
