An interesting pamphlet detailing the By Laws for the Charleston Orphan House in 1861, which also happens to be the same year of the start of the American Civil War.
The Orphan house had been established since 1790 and had cared for 2340 orphans between 1790 and 1861.
Condition
In paper wraps. Worn extremities with the bottom right corner torn. Some further tears to the rear wrap and some fading to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound with age worn pages with scattered spots throughout.
