First Edition, Signed Binding, Uncommon
The first edition of the English translation of this work, in the publisher's original cloth binding. The binding of Volume I is signed by Westleys & Co. Library stamps from Kings Inns Library, Dublin, to the reverse of the title page and to the last page of Volume I and Volume II. Johann Georg Kohl (1808-1878) was a German travel writer, historian, and geographer. This is his account of his travels through Canada, New York and Pennsylvania, translated by Mrs. Percy Sinnett. With his companions, Kohl travels up through New York, into Vermont, then on into Montreal, Toronto, Niagra, and other parts of Canada.
Condition
In publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally smart, with some fading to the spines and extremities, and a little staining to the boards, of both volumes. Slightly wear and a couple of losses to the head of both spines, and wear to the lower extremity of the front board to Volume I. The front hinge of Volume II is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
