This enormous Holy Bible was once the property of the Perkins family, with their marriages, births and deaths recorded in the leaves bound to the front of the work, from the 1860s until the 1910s.
This edition with a practical and explanatory commentary on the Old Testament by the Rev. Robert Jamieson, a minister of the Church of Scotland.
Bound in a lavish contemporary leather binding, with metal edges and two functioning metal clasps.

With thirty-eight illustrative engravings on steel throughout.

Condition
In a contemporary full crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart, with some wear to the joints and rubbing to the raised bands. Extremities are protected by polished metal. Clasps are fully functioning and secure. Internally, binding is generally firm; front hinge is starting after the marriages leaf. Pages are occasionally a little spotted.
