First Edition, Signed Binding, Very Scarce

A very scarce first edition copy. In full rebacked cloth binding by Edmonds & Remnants. A delightful collection of illustrative anecdotes regarding a variety of animals, including dogs, elephants, frogs and whales. With facts, historical accounts and personal stories. Francis Orpen Morris was a notable parson-naturalist, and wrote many children's books and books on natural history. With the publisher's advertisements to the front and rear paste-downs and to the end of the book.

Condition

In full cloth rebacked cloth binding. Externally, smart with shelf wear to the extremities and spine. Marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting but firm. Stains to the paste-downs. Some closed tears to the front free endpaper. Binders label to the rear paste-down. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting and marks throughout. Light age-toning to the edges.
