An uncommon work. The twenty-second edition of this biography.

Inscription of prior owner to the verso of front endpaper, dated 1860. 

With an engraved frontispiece of the subject of this work, Samuel Budgett.  Samuel Budgett was an English merchant who was based in Kingswood Bristol. He built a wholesale grocery business called H.H. & S Budgett which covered a large area of Southern and Western England and South Wales. 

A fascinating biography of this important Somerset based merchant. Providing an insight into nineteenth century commerce.

Condition

In a contemporary half calf binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, smart. Rubbing to the joints and extremities. Minor rubbing to the raised bands. Prior owner's inscription to the verso of front endpaper, dated 1860. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
