1859 A Manual of Domestic Economy
What Our Customers Say...
Illustrated, Leather Binding, Uncommon
An uncommon work in all editions, first published in 1856.
This is the work of John Henry Walsh, who usually served as a sports writer, but is here 'assisted in various departments by a committee of ladies'.
With instructional information for families of a wide variety of income levels, Walsh includes medical advice with directions for the management of the nursery and sick room, alongside homemade domestic remedies.
Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece, and fifty-six further plates. Collated, complete.
A smart copy of this illustrated instructional work.
Rebacked, in a quarter morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Original boards restored, retaining the original endpapers. Externally, very smart. Hinges lightly strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Instances of spotting throughout, most concentrated to plates.
