Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
A very scarce work. This work is an interesting look at British conchology, giving a brief but detailed overview into the prominent varieties in Britain. This work was originally published in the 'Annals and Magazine of Natural History' in January 1858. Written by John Gwyn Jeffreys. Jeffreys was a conchologist and malacologist, who took part in several deep sea expeditions as the scientific leader. He was best known for his five volume work 'British Conchology', which was generally considered to be the best on the subject. Illustrated with one plate. Collated, complete.

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Small tear to the head of the spine, causing the wraps to be lifting to the spine. Light edgewear. Minor marks to the wraps. Small crack to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some scattered spots mostly to the last few pages.
