Privately printed in a run of one-hundred copies, and taken from the original manuscripts, this personal diary covers one of the most important periods of Washington's life, with the introductory remarks noting that this was written 'when he and his compatriots were arranging and putting in motion the machinery of our federal government', and begins two days before his first Thanksgiving Proclamation.

In a beautiful signed half crushed morocco binding from Stikeman & Co of New York, this is a fascinating and very scarce first hand account of one of the most important periods in the early history of the United States of America.
