What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding

Hand coloured, with thirteen plates by John Leech. The illustrations to this work is some of Leech's best works. The humorous depictions of the hunts and nineteenth century society are extremely vibrant.

Collated, complete.

'Ask Mamma' is one of Smith Surtees' later novels, following his success with the 'New Sporting Magazine' and 'Jorrocks' Jaunts and Jollities'. Surtees was a creator of comic personalities and his novels are still as engaging now as at their time of writing.

In a half morocco binding with paper covered boards. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the paper covered boards. A few light marks and minor rubbing to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright. Scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Just the odd spot to pages.
