The first edition of this work. A scarce copy rarely seen on the market, found in institutional libraries such as the British library, Trinity College Dublin Library, and the University of Cambridge Libraries among others. 

An attentive introduction to mechanics by William Walton, covering both statics and dynamics in detail through the presentation of a collection of problems relative to the subject. 

Illustrated with five folding plates to rear. Collated, complete. With publisher's advertising leaves to rear. Includes a list of 'Mr Walton's Mathematical Works.'

Condition

Rebacked in full cloth with the original publisher's spine and boards restored. Externally a trifle rubbed with shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities, back strip lifting to front joint, boards lightly marked. Cloth reinforced to front hinge. Ex-library with usual stamps throughout. Internally, binding firm. Pages generally very clean throughout, odd spotting affecting odd leaf particularly leaves of plates. Closed tear to fourth plate.
