Prize Binding
Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) was a Scottish novelist and poet. Scott remains a celebrated figure in Scottish literary history, and the landscape of Scotland features heavily in his works. He was particularly popular as a poet, and remained the most celebrated poet in his day until Lord Byron's 'Childe Harold's Pilgrimage' in 1812. His poetry included 'Marmion', 'The Lady of the Lake', 'Sir Tristrem' and 'Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border'.

Condition
In a full calf binding. Externally a trifle worn, with rubbing to the spine and extremities. Prize and ownership bookplate to the front endpaper and pastedown; ownership inscription to the front blank. Internally, front hinge has failed after the endpaper; binding is otherwise firm. Pages are bright and clean.
