What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
Lacking the title page. Dated using the copac entry for this edition. A second edition was published in 1858 with illustrations. Very scarce. This work regards Bonar's travels in Egypt, and in particular the Sinai peninsular. This book is formed of the notes that Bonar made whilst travelling on a camel. Bonar gives an insight into biblical lands, beginning his journey in France and ending just outside of Palestine. Horatius Bonar was a Scottish churchman and poet. Today he is widely remembered for his hymns. This work explores The Nile, Pyramids, Sphinx, Sinai and more. A fascinating insight into nineteenth century Egypt.
