Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
A charming collection of coloured lithographs by prolific Victorian illustrator Charles Henry Bennett, contributor to the Punch magazine. Dated from Jisc 1857.
Containing an amusing series of lithographs which play with the shadow of the characters illustrated. A very scarce volume.
Collated. Complete with a lithographic frontispiece and title page, as well as twenty three hand-coloured plates.
This work is disbound however comes in the original publisher's quarter cloth over illustrated paper boards.
Condition
Disbound. In the original publisher's quarter cloth over illustrated paper boards. Externally sound with some shelf wear and rubbing to the boards, a minor loss to the head and tail of the spine, and some closed tears tot he front and rear joints. The pages are faintly spotted as usual. Collated, complete with a lithographic frontispiece and title page, as well as twenty three hand-coloured plates. The odd plate with a minor closed tear.
