Bookplate of Alfred Paget Humphrey to the front paste down. Humphrey was a barrister and famous rifle sharpshooter, and owned of the timber-framed late mediaeval hall Horham Hall, in Thaxted.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Bumping and a small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Spine is a little discoloured. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with scattered spotting.
