A scarce privately published copy of this book of illustrations of Alnwick, Prudhoe and Warkworth Castles in Northumberland. The volume also contains illustrations of other significant mediaeval buildings on the Northumberland estates.
The volume was produced in a small number by Algernon Percy, who was the 4th Duke of Northumberland and provides descriptions of the plates and a list of the armorial bearings of families the Duke descended from.

Condition
In half morocco binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, smart with some marks to the boards. With a bookplate to the front pastedown for John Hunter. Signed by the the Duke of Northumberland to the signature page. Internally firmly bound with bright pages with some light scattered spots to some of the pages.
