This is the work of John Milton Mackie, an American writer who specialized in a wide range of topics, from German history and literature to the life of Tai-Ping-Wang, Chief of the Chinese Insurrection.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Some light marks to the boards, with bumping to extremities and head and tail of back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Tear to half title. Pages age toned to perimeters, with the occasional mark and spot.
