This work was originally published in 1818 and contains a series of historical dissertations on the circumstances of interest that occurred during the Middle Ages.

The volumes start from the history of France from its conquest by Clovis to the Invasion of Naples by Charles VIII and end with a reflection on the state of society in Europe during the Middle Ages.

Condition

In full calf binding. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the joints and spines. Previous owner inscriptions to the front free endpaper of vol. i. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
