An uncommon biography of Diego Valazquex, in very attractive leather binding from Chambolle-Duru. Including a decorative title page depicting Velazquez, this mid-nineteenth century work offers interesting insight into the eminent Spanish painter's life, as well as further introductory remarks into the work of the Early Spanish Painters. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. A superbly presented work.

Condition

In crushed morocco binding with gilt detailing. Externally very smart there is some very minor marking to the front board only. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout.
