A handsomely bound copy of Volume II of The Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society Magazine, published by the society in 1855. This society began in 1854 and operated out of Devizes, located in Wiltshire, home to some of the best Bronze Age collections in the United Kingdom. As of today, the society is still in operation as the Wiltshire Record Society. 

This particular volume contains a particular focus on Castle Combe and church bells, with many articles by antiquarian Rev. William Collings Lukis. 

Including one folding plate, fifteen full page engraved plates, and numerous in-text illustrations. Collated and complete. 

A scarce to find work.

Condition

Handsomely bound in quarter calf with marbled boards and refreshed endpapers. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. A few light handling marks to the pages, which are otherwise generally bright and clean.
