The story of a family of English gentry moving to the backwoods of Indiana, with depictions of Bordeaux, New York, Niagra Falls, Lake Erie, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Indianapolis. Written by John Richard Digby Beste, an English author who moved to America inspiring his numerous travel books.

Condition

In the original half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Joints starting but firm. Loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Library embossed stamp and contemporary ink inscription to title page.
