    A very scarce work.

    Author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to the recto to the front free endpaper, 'Miss Chetwynd, with the author's best respects, February 6th 1865'.

    An interesting theological study, regarding the relationship between the power and wisdom of God and astronomy, a field of science that was quickly expanding during the Victorian era.

    Condition

    In a half crushed morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, the cloth is lifting a little from the boards. Light marks and discolouration to the boards and spine. Paper to the front pastedown is lifting a little. Author's inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
