Description

Leather Binding

With the Old and New Testaments, translated out of the original tongues; and with the former translations compared and revised by His Majesty's special command.

Presented in a full calf binding.

This Bible was bound for church use in Stoke Holy Cross, a village in South Norfolk a few miles south of Norwich.

Containing the ownership bookplate of Henry Birkbeck (1853-1930), born at Stoke Holy Cross.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally rather worn, with rubbing resulting in loss to the leather particularly to the raised bands and boards, with the extremities rather bumped. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, front hinge is cracked but otherwise firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few marks.
