The musical essay discussing the origins of music, music in relation to poetry, Greek music, &c. while the essay on dress looks at the extravagance of male attire, taste, development of fashion, hair, and more.
Elizabeth Eastlake was a British author and art critic, known both for her copious contributions to the Quarterly Review, and her significant role in the London art world.
Condition
Rebound in full cloth binding with titles on label to front board, new endpapers. Externally lovely. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean with only a touch of age toning, as usual with the type of paper used.
