Illustrated with six hand coloured costume plates, depicting rural gatherings, fishermen, and a woman in a graveyard.
Collated; the V&A call for sixteen engraved plates, where only six are present here.

Undated; dated 1853 via the Victoria & Albert Museum.

With a former owner's watercolour landscape illustration to the verso of the front wrap.

In the publisher's original paper wraps. Significant handling marks and spotting to wrap perimeters. Tape repair to back strip. Fold to centre of front wrap. Former owner's painting to verso of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Significant handling marks and spotting to plate perimeters.
