The scarce second edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with gilt detail to the spine. Bound by Remnant & Edmonds. A fascinating travelogue of Edward Sullivan's travels through North and South America. Sharing his thoughts on the people and culture as well as addressing topics such as the slave trade, etiquette and wildlife. Places mentioned include Toronto, New Orleans, Barbados and Venezuela. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front paste-down.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the edges and bumping to the spine. Tears and chipping to the spine. Fading to thes spine. A few light marks to the boards. Contemporary ink inscription to the front paste-down. Binders label to the rear paste-down. A few light marks to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Front hinge is strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with some age-toning and spotting.
