Volume II George Gordon Byron, more widely known as Lord Byron, was a British nobleman, poet and leading figure in the Romantic movement, often regarded as one of the greatest British poets. Byron was renowned, rather notoriously as being the most flamboyant of the major Romantics, notorious for his aristocratic excesses (which included huge debts) and numerous love affairs with both men and women. Beyond this however, Byron wrote prolifically throughout his lifetime and remains widely read and influential.
