'The Alhambra' is a collection inspired by the Spanish fortress Alhambra.  Often referred to as his 'Spanish Sketch Book' there are chapters on the architecture, government, traditions and histories of various locations across Spain. 

'Tales of a Traveller' is a collection of essays and short stories composed by Irving whilst he lived in Germany and Paris. 

A smartly bound copy of this selection of essays and verbal sketches by this important American author providing his viewpoint on Europe. 

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Tissue guard to the frontispiece is removed. Pages are bright. Scattered spotting to the first and last few pages.
