This work showcases a selection of engravings depicting scenes from Sir Walter Scott's Waverley novels. These novels were extremely popular in Europe with Sir Walter Scott gaining great notoriety as an author.
Condition
Bound in full morocco. Externally smart with fading to the spine with a closed tear to the head, rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities of the boards with light rubbing to the joints and spine and minor marks to the boards. Slight handling marks to the endpapers. Internally binding weak with many pages disbound but present. Pages generally bright with scattered spotting throughout. Old ink gift inscription dated 1859 to the front blank.
