What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

The first edition of this very scarce work.

A series of entertaining legal anecdotes of the bench and bar, including notices and some scathing opinions on a variety of legal figures of the day, such as judges. Figures discussed in this work include Lord Clonmell, Lord Clare, Lord Eldon, Lord Brougham, Lord Thurlow, Judge Hale, and more.

By William Henry Grimmer. This is his only known work.

Grimmer dedicated this work to Sir Edward Hall Alderson, a lawyer and judge who, in his position as a judge, helped shape the early days of capitalism in Victorian England due to his judgments on commercial law.
