Illustrated with a frontispiece, five folding plates, and numerous vignette engravings. Collated, complete.

A fascinating abridged account of the author's excavations at Kuyunjik and Nimrud, and his discovery that Kuyunjik was the site of Nineveh, an ancient Assyrian city of Upper Mesopotamia, located in modern day Northern Iraq.

Condition

In a full calf binding, with gilt detailing. Rubbing to joints. Externally, bright. Front hinge starting, with board holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
