Martyn's devotion to his missionary work won him much admiration. An institution was established in his name in India as well as a trust based in Cambridge which is still active today.
In a calf binding with gilt stamps. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing and marks to boards including small ink spill to front board. Ex-library markings to spine. Front hinge slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean. A few scattered spots to first and last few pages. Ink inscription to recto of front blank. Ex-library stamp to recto of front blank.
