In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with some shelf wear and chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, the cloth to the spine darkened. General light soiling to the boards. previous ownership inscriptions to the recto and verso of the front free endpaper, 'J Tinshina' dated 1941, 'Charles William Crawley' dated 1934 and 'G. Maddison' undated. The hinges are slightly strained, holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Odd light spotting to the odd leaf, otherwise the pages are bright and clean throughout. Illustrated with eighty-four woodcuts in text and eleven full plate etchings. Collated, complete.
