Description
Translated by theologian William Whiston (1667-1752), this is an important account of Jewish histories, second only to the Bible with its account of ancient Palestine and descriptions of characters such as Pontius Pilate and Herod the Great.
Consisting of his two most celebrated pieces of work 'The Jewish War' (c. 75) and 'Antiquities of the Jews' (c. 94), this edition also contains three dissertations, amongst which are those concerning Jesus Christ and John the Baptist.
Complete in one volume.

Condition
Rebacked in full cloth preserving the original boards and spine. Externally generally smart, with some general wear to the boards. Pencil ownership inscription to the front blank. Internally generally firmly bound; frontispiece is near loose but present, as a result of slight straining to the front hinge after the front endpaper. Pages are bright and clean with just the occasional spot.
