    First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

    The first edition of this work.

    In two volumes, being volumes II and III of a total of VII volumes.

    An apologetic work about Catholics and the Catholic religion.

    The author had converted to Catholicism in 1825, his works on the religion explaining his love and belief in the institution, as opposed to the religion he was raised with.

    Sixteen pages of publisher's adverts to the rear of each volume.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart, with some loss to the spine and joints. Light bumping to the extremities. A little rubbing and minor marks to the boards and spines. A small amount of paper of lifting to the joints. Bookseller's label to the front paste down of Volume III. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots.
