First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding

This is a smart two volume set of A Book For a Corner; or Selections in Prose and Verse from authors the best suited to that mode of enjoyment, with comments on each and a general introduction by Leigh Hunt. The volumes are illustrated by F. W. Hulme and J. Franklin.

Volume I is illustrated with eighty wood engravings throughout the text and is a collection of passages from such authors as retain the highest and mist friendly hold upon us during life, including prose and verse from writer such as Pope, Catherine Talbot and De Foe. 

Volume II is also illustrated with eighty wood engravings throughout the text and contains prose and verse from writers such as Parnell and Fielding. 

Collated, complete.

Condition

In half leather binding. Externally, smart. There is some light fading to the spine and extremities. There are bookplates to both pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound with bright clean pages.
