    First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

    First edition of Essays on Human Rights and their Political Guaranties by E. P. Hurlbut in the original publisher's cloth binding.

    With notes by George Combe. 

    Entered, according to the Act of Congress, in the year 1845 by Greeley & McElrath in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York. 

    Topics include 'The Origin of Human Rights' and 'The True Function of Government'. 

    An important work on the subject. 

    The fifth thousandth issue. A scarce edition, with only one other copy held in libraries.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, sound. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some small cracks to the joints. There is some wear to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some age toning and the odd spot.
