Description
Illustrated, Very Scarce
A very scarce work, disbound but intact. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece, an engraved title page, and four plates to the rear. A study of the art of blazon, the process of creating a formal description of a coat of arms, flag or similar emblem so that the reader can construct the image. An illustrated work written by the Rev. William Sloane Evans, who has also written an introduction on the origin and development of British heraldry.
Condition
Disbound but intact. Externally fairly smart, with a little spotting to the wraps, and remnants of the binding to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the frontispiece and engraved title page, and age toning to the perimeters of the plates.
