The first edition of this work, a very scarce work not found in any institutional library nor seen on the market. Published anonymously but attributed to Richard A Gaunt. 

Discussion on the influence of the ministry of Walpole and his successors on the national character of England, with emphasis no the venality and corruption of the political system of the time. 

Featuring Egerton Parker's pictorial bookplate to front pastedown.

Condition

Rebound in half straight up grain morocco over marbled boards, gilt to top edge, marbled endpapers. Externally sound with some shelf wear, rubbed to joints, boards, and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
