    Description

    First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

    First edition of Ecclesiastical Antiquities of Down, Connor, and Dromore, Consisting of A Taxation of Those Dioceses, Compiled in the Year MCCCVI.

    By Rev. William Reeves, an Irish antiquarian and Bishop of Down, Connor, and Dromore from 1886 until his death in 1892.

    In the original publisher's cloth binding. 

    Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. From the library of H. T. Knox.

    Lacking the folding plate of the facsimile tax document.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, sound. There is bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is faded and the front joint is cracked. The hinges are strained but firm. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and generally clean with some occasional light spotting .
