What Our Customers Say...

Description

Containing essays such as 'On things that cost nothing', 'On Laughter', 'On Anger and Admiration', 'On Peculiarities and Predilections', 'On Mysterious Advertisements', 'On Terms used in War' and 'On the Beauties of Creation'.

Written by George Mogridge (1787-1854), a 19th century writer of religious tracts and works for children. He published under numerous pseudonyms, including Jeremy Jaunt, Ephraim Holding, Peter Parley and his most popular Old Humphrey, as used for this work. Mogridge published some two hundred odd works, with many still in print today.

'Old Humphrey' wrote innumerable articles for the Religious Tract Society, with the pseudonym becoming more of a character for Mogridge, playing an elderly and warm-hearted man.
