Illustrated with fifty engraved plates depicting these remarkable ancient treasures.

With the small library stamp of Assay Office Library, Birmingham to the front endpaper. Birmingham Assay Office tests and hallmarks precious metals, and was founded in 1773.

An uncommon work, with this being the only edition printed.

Condition

In a full cloth binding; rebacked with the original cloth boards laid down. Externally generally smart, with a little wear to the original boards, which are bumped at the extremities. Small library stamp to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the plates a little spotted.
