Scarce work. With illustrated frontispiece. An educational guide to the value of health through alchemy, astrology, talismans, amulets, charms, and the influence of the mind on the body. Written by Thomas Joseph Pettigrew, sometimes known as "Mummy" Pettigrew, a surgeon and antiquarian who became an expert on Ancient Egyptian mummies. He was best known in London social circles for his private parties in which he unrolled and autopsied mummies for the entertainment of his guests.

Condition

In the original black cloth binding. Externally, sound with light bumping to the extremities and loss to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd annotation. Light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages.
