Ralph Waldo Emerson was an American essayist and philosopher, the leader of the transcendentalist movement during the mid nineteenth century. Bookplate to the front pastedown, 'Mr J. W. Pewtrels, .... Cottage'. Two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Cracks to the rear joint. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot.
