Description

Leather Binding, Rebound

New and corrected edition with some additional pieces. William Pickering editions. Merivale was a friend of Lord Byron, who praised his translations from the Greek and his Orlando in Roncesvalles, which is included within this set. He was a frequent contributor to the Quarterly Review and other reviews and periodicals. Poems Original and Translated is complete in two volumes, with The Minor Poems of Schiller being complete within itself.

Condition

Rebound in half calf bindings with cloth covered boards, and gilt detailing to the spines. Externally, all volumes are rubbed, with instances of damp staining to the boards. All spine labels are absent, and all hinges are strained. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound and bright, although with some scattered spotting to the first and last leaves. Blind stamp to the verso of the front free endpaper of all volumes, and neat ink signature to the endpaper of volume one
