An excellent copy of the enlarged fourth edition of Scottish agriculturist and writer John Morton's study of soil, first published in 1838.

Illustrated with two folding plates, one in colour. Collated, complete.

A twelve page publisher's catalogue tipped in to final leaf.

Morton was known for his contributions to the Royal Agricultural Society and writings on agricultural science.

Condition

In a half morocco binding, with marbled paper covered boards and gilt detailing to back strip. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to title page and first few leaves, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
