Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

A charming children's work looking at the wonders of the ocean.

Illustrated throughout.

Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown, 'Viscount Maudeville, from the Reverend Tho. Ainsworth Nov 1861'. George Montagu, the 8th Duke of Manchester, was the Viscount Maudeville in 1861. Montagu was a Member of Parliament.

Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, and a couple of light marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting but firm. Gift inscription to the front pastedown. Small tidemark to the front endpapers and to the first few pages. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
