The House of Commons' very scarce publication of statistical information relating to England's county Lunatic Asylums, ordered to be printed on the 25th May, 1842.
Detailing the 1839-1842 returns for the asylums of twelve counties: Bedford, Dorset, Kent, Lancaster, Leicester, Middlesex, Norfolk, Nottingham, Pembroke, Stafford, Suffolk and York.
Consisting of copies of annual returns, the returns of the counties in which the asylums are located, and details on the numbers of patients admitted, removed and remaining in each asylum.
Included also are the 'Names of County Lunatic Asylums where Reports have been made to the Clerk of the Metropolitan Commissioners in Lunacy'.
A fascinating and very scarce publication of the statistical details of the mid nineteenth century asylum.

In the publisher's original paper wraps. Front wrap detached to head and tail of front joint, and tenderly held. Losses to perimeters of front and rear wraps. Significant loss to back strip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
