The new edition of this highly regarded reference work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Bookplate to the verso of the front free end paper. Ink inscription to the title page. Sir Astley Cooper (1768-1841) was a British surgeon who made important contributions to otology, vascular surgery, the anatomy and pathology of the mammary glands and testicles, and the pathology and surgery of hernia. This is his work on dislocations and fractures of the joints, in the new edition edited by his nephew Bransby B. Cooper (1792-1853) who was also a surgeon. 32 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally sound, though with light marks and shelf wear to the boards. Small tears to the cloth at the joints and losses to the head and tail of the spine. Shelf wear to the extremities. Both hinges are strained with webbing showing, but remain reasonably firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot, more so to the front of the volume.
